I'm just wondering how many people out there have suffered abuse and what they've done to recover and move on.

I'm not abused, but most of my family was. Please feel free to relate your stories.

I find talking about it helps. I was abused by two uncles on each side of my parents' family. I didn't tell no one because I didn't want to make family problems. I steadily stay on my daughter about if someone is bothering her to let me know, etc. I also heard writing in a journal is good. I just settled the guilt with God and let Him take care of the rest.

I was raped as a child and sexually abused by a guy I knew and when I was 13 my 18 year old boyfriend was abusive not getting into any of it. Eventually broke up wit him after we broke up and got back together a number of times. I've been in counsiling for da abuse for years.

To many of us have been abused i am one of them and i guess a lucky one because it made me a strong but bitter women. Maybe i drink too much to drown out the past but i am a survivor. I have owned 3 businesses so i cant be doin that bad.

The first thing i did was get out.. you need to remove yourself from the abusive relationship as hard as it is, as much as you think you will be losing.. you need to get out.. Then you get help.. Talk to people.. friends or professionals.. You will surprised how many people can offer you assistance you even a shoulder to lean on when things get tuff or you feel like you want to go back.. Don't go back.. your stronger than you think and you deserve better..
