I was just wondering if anyone does. This is aimed at Americans, but anyone can answer considering some other asker thinks the U.S. is meddling in everyone else's business.
For the record, I still believe in my country, just not those who claim to represent me.

Children, knock off the polarized bashing. Both sides are guilty of corruption.

Lets see:
Our government is reasonably responsive to what we as voters collectively decide.
We have reasonable laws that tend to be enforced fairly.
We have processes that allow those with grievances to express those grievances without fear of retribution.
We have government services that tend to be performed an an efficient manner.
We can expect that - simply by dialing 911 - we can get assistance in an emergency.
I would say that our government is working on our behalf.
Are things 'perfect' - no. But is it reasonable to expect perfection in any human endeavor?

The government seems to be working on behalf of oil,
pharmaceuticals, & Halliburton. They appear to care less
that millions of Americans are without health insurance or
that many have to put half their paycheck in their gas tanks
just to get to work.
The mere fact that some Katrina victums are still homeless
& FEMA is selling trailors at bargin prices is a bit disturbing.

Absolutely not.
And, further, I DON'T believe in " my " country.
It isn't " mine. "
It belongs to hoods. Criminals. Opportunists. Weird ohs. Creeps. Corrupt government.
I believe there is a higher authority, certainly not man. A 'country' is just a mass of real estate. Dirt. Land. It doesn't do anything. Except when you're buried in it.
Then you make lotsa worms happy. For a short while.
Further, I've got a question up. Right now.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...
I asked it in such a way as to provoke humor. The attendant foto address ought to have confirmed that.

Look at the responses.
Sheer stupidity.
Nobody got it.
Just a bunch of yo yos spouting off trying to sound important.
You think ... for one minute ... I'm gonna put any kind of confidence in that??!!
Huh - uh.
My general attitude right now is, I consider the
" U.S. " as a false name.
Just another piece of Gog and Magog is closer to the truth.
Further, I'm getting a real kick watching the devil and his flunkys climbing the walls in their last few hours of existence.
Hope this helps.

I believe in the country only if everything is running smoothly and if there was no war, no new taxes, no starvation, no death penalties or anything like that. I only believe in the good side of everything, but since Bush is the President, I don't know what to believe in any more.

No.I think if every citizen took the responsibility to understand issues and then took time to discuss them without talk radio vitriolic banter we could possibly regain control of the direction of our country. But my doubts about that happening grow bigger everyday.

good thinking! those greedy fools are self-centered, maniacs who are good with propaganda! this government is just aS bad as russias or chinas! every one of the whitehouse people and the entire congress needs to be impeached, thrown out, and a new set of decent people installed, who will look to solve domestic problems in this country first!
