Firstly, you must receive adequate training in the security industry at least to the BTEC Level 2. This involves an intensive course spanning about five days after which you write the prescribed exam. If you are successful, you will be awarded a certificate. That takes you to the next step which is applying for the licence from the SIA; the agency responsible for regulating the security industry in the UK. Proves of ID and address are required because Security Check will be carried out on you. It is illegal to work in the security industry without a licence. After obtaining your licence, you can now register your company and start operating . Make sure you do your home work properly because poor planning can lead to failure.
