it really depends on what sort of trouble the person is in. if its some very close friend then u definitely should help, without being asked to. if its through a common friend u have heard of his trouble, again through the same friend u can enquire whether u can be of any help. but if its someone u do not know at all but have heard from some other source, u can spare the person more trouble by just keeping away & not increasing his problems by being curious or invading into his privacy.

Depends on what the trouble is. a person who is suicidal needs immediate help, whether or not they want it. Other kinds of trouble may require a bit of finesse. A wounded animal will sometimes snap and bite anyone who comes near, even when that person is trying to rescue and bandage it. Wounded people are like that too. Even though you are trying to help, they may resent and snap at you. Keep this in mind as you try to help and don't give up on them because of it.

You need to have an open heart. Understand his situation without judging him. Be willing to listen and more importantly, pray that God will make a way for that person. Ask God for wisdom on how to solve his problem.

try to be patient and caring. The person can be over sensitive so try to understand the person. Now it depends about what kind of trouble, I think.

Just help them; It needs a master piece of the brain and great heart............ to help the people in trouble;
There are different kind of help, for different situations.
One necessary help for all situations is emotional support ("Can be given by good people only").
Another thing is to make a prayer for them; ("In my experience, it happens that whenever I pray for others, good things are happening from them; We have to pray with belief in GOD)

Do not tell the person you are trying to help. I don't know what kind of trouble. If the person does not want you to help dont tell him/her that you want to help but just do it in the background.
Please for heaven's sake please when you ask questions remember to add more details.

trouble is too broad. different situations require different treatments. is he wanted by the feds or did he cheat on his wife? best way to treat them is to ask questions. get them talking. layout possible solutions.....you, personally, should keep distant from that person.

Assuming that it is psychological, let us proceed with compassion with him. Infuse confidence in him by reassuring better opportunities available to in life and positive efforts which may provide better advantages. If he gets convinced of your suggestions and help, proceed the way you want to deal with him. If otherwise it is better to hand him over to the known closest relative.
