A lot of blondes do it for attention...they like to hear "Oh, haha, it's because you're blonde."
It's dumb...and I hate when people act blonde. And that's why people think blondes are stupid.

Of the same reason that some people recon pink as being a feminine color. And that boys doesn't play with dolls etc.etc.
Deeper down it has to do with the patriarchal society that we live in. Femininity is generally seen as something less intelligent and soft etc.etc.
I once read an interview with a famous blond modell who responded to the blond thing with:
"It is really interesting that I seam to have lost my brain when I died my hair."
So the really dumb are those who actually believe that the hair color and sex should have anything what so ever to do with the intelligence.

Because there's no anti-discrimination laws to prevent it.
All those jokes that rely on the audience assuming the protagonist is stupid because of some characteristic just wouldn't work if there wasn't a group of people assumed to be naturally dumb.
We can no longer use people from another ethnic group or country as it is deemed non-PC to do so.
There will be a Blond Liberation Front soon and then there will be legislation against blond discrimination.
Such is the world...

Blondes are often the center of attention with most guys. They find out early that they can use their femininity to make the guys do everything for them. So many of them start doing this in school. They act dumb and get the boys to give them the answers to everything. As time passes, they study less and less until they become the reality to all the jokes.

I can only guess several different reasons:
one reason which is the most reasonable is that other females usually envy natural blonds, so why not claim they are stupid.
another reason is that blond girls, who feel they are special and will have easy life because of their hairs, do not think they have to improve their brains too, so they end up as dumb blonds.
another is that girls, who think they'll look better if their hairs were blond, are usually not very smart to start with.

My guess and only guess is it's go way back to Marilyn Monroe's days.
She was first known as Norma Jean with black hair, very smart. (So the story goes) She couldn't get no acting parts, almost on the break of financial ruins. So she died her hair blonds acted very dumb and sexy.
She was a hit over night. Known as the sexy dumb blond shell. Then all the girls idoled her and acted out like she would have and the rest is history.
Just my thinking though.

because they are usually the ones that get on the cheer-leading teams and date school sports players (well at least in the movies anyway). and i suppose if they were really smart as well all the non- blonde's would get jealous. but a lot of them are quite smart and i don't see anyone get jealous of them. but its probably defiantly got something to do with cheer leading and the stereotype of that passed over to this.
ps. I'm not blonde and i don't see them as dumb and i don't know any non - blonde's that do.

3 Blonds caught a Goldfish, which promised every blond to for-fill a wish, if they let it go.
The 1st Blond asked to be the most blond ever ... so the fish clapped 3 times his tail and for-filled the wish.
The 2nd Blond asked for being a blond with most blue eyes ever ... so the fish clapped 2 times with its tail and for-filled the wish.
The 3rd Blond almost paniced about what to wish for, as "the good wishes" were taken, but than asked to be the most dumb Blond ever !
The fish clapped once with his tail ... and the Blond became A MAN !

they just do silly things...nothin against em, but i have blonde cousins n they really r quite intelligent, but geez, sometimes they really make u understand where "having a blonde moment" comes from lol

maybe cause some ppl think the dye, bleach or whatever they used to change their hair color got to the brain and made them dumb.
