Well, if you use Yahoo chat, you're probably not gonna have many intelligent chats. If you want a chat client which lets you completely customize your profile, avatar and photo as well as randomly being matched up with people to chat with, use IMVU. You should also, however, use Yahoo! Messenger as your computer's default chat client for all the great people you meet online. You can get that here: http://messenger.yahoo.com

I dont do online chats anymore but you can get to one in yahoo messenger. I stopped goin in them when I got way to much sex stuff sent to me or the guys wanted net sex. You have a better chance at meeting a nice person in here then on a chat

first you should download the yahoo messenger from messenger.yahoo.com then you should open yahoo messenger and enter your user and password of yahoo email.
then from menus go to: messenger---> yahoo chat--->join a room. now you can choose a room from different categories and enter a room.now you can chat with people in room.
if you want to chat with a particular id enter the id directly in yahoo messenger and chat with him or her.
