How far back does it go if you keep it?

I have messages from as far back as 2000 in my current email, and I'm sure I have some from further back still in the data files from my old email programs.

I'll extend the question for a bit and see if anyone can top that. :)

BTW - my email program (Agent) lets me save messages directly to text files, singly or in hand-picked bunches. No need to copy & paste. I'm sure others can do the same.

I have almost 2000 saved from my kids going back three years when my oldest started college. I delete the rest as soon as the issue is resolved - immediately or in a few days. Having the subject pop up when I check is a good reminder sytem for me to deal with something.

if you do not delete the e-mail it will stay as long as you keep it.you can save the e-mail's you want buy cut and paste... if you don't think you want to keep it then delete...myself i cut and paste into notepad then save them.otherwise they will stay in your inbox as long as you don't delete them....
