How do birth, death, fertility, and migration rates affect population size? What factors effect these rates?

Death rates rise --- decrease population
Fertility rates rise--- raise the population
migration into a country raises the population out of a country decreases a population.

Example: The US population would be shrinking because the average couple has 1.8 children. Think of it as every 20 people create 18 babies. Except for immigrants added have increased our population. I remember when they announced the US population was 220 million and when it was 240 million and 260 million and now it is 280 million.
Death is affected most by health care as is birth survival rate. Fertility is affected by the age of the mother. And the level of education of the couple their income and Availability of birth control.
Im a "baby boomer". (Born between 1945 and 1961)We are all starting to retire. When we start dying then the average age in the US will decrease.
