A friend of mine showed one to me that he says is the best thing that he has ever used that is better than storing files online. It isn't free, but it is as my friend put it (better than any other site because you don't have annoying pop-up ads that interfere with what you are doing". I saw him using it from a school computer and immediately saw how useful it was. You can find a more detailed description at the the below link. Even though it is a music site, you can use it for more than just music files

If that is not copyrighted material. Just upload them to www.mediafire.com Otherwise, depending on the type of files, for example, you can either, save them in your email, pictures in photobucket.com, etc.
If you're going to view your material regularly, at least once a month, you can use rapidshare, as to asure their refreshed once in a while.
