Hi, I'm a SysAdmin and had to use Direcway when I had to go work on a network project from Canada to Mexico to connect hotels to internet in remote locations. I could not play World of Warcraft which was my favorite game at the time.

MMO games relies on latency! Latency is the time a packet takes to go from your computer to its remote destination. Satelite internet has big latency, because your packets travels alot. For this reason, most of the time, Direcway is not suited to play online games. Latency is even worst than dialup. But to download continuous content, such as big files or videos, satelite is still faster. Your packets have to travel a lot of distance to the sky (on 2 ways satelite internet), and on the types of satelites that use upload with dialup and download with satelite, the problem is a lot worst.

If you don't have access to cable or DSL and want high speed to play online games, your only recourse is if there is a wireless provider in your region. Where i'm currently located for my work, there is a wireless tower located at 2.5 kilometers from where i am and i have a 1 megabit connection and a latency average of 200ms in online games, which is good enough.

Good luck.

Sorry to say, but you're pretty much out of luck. Satellite internet has far too much ping (since it has to travel back and forth all the way to the satellite) to play an online game decently.

The thing with torrents is, the download process requires other people with the file to be actively uploading. So if it is an obscure file, you'll have a difficult time finding seeders for it.

The problem with satellite Internet service is that cloud cover/rain/snow can affect the performance of your connection. All you can do is wait until a sunny day to sit inside and play online computer games.
