Why do people post these kind of things?

Why do people make such topics like, "Hey! click this!" and then when you go read it, it will say "You read it too bad! and If you don't repost this red guy will tap you in the back and and strangle you!". Its like a threat and I don't hate it, I am just wondering.

The fact that people do these is just ridiculous. I wish it could be more like "If you repost this, you will get a starbucks or a mocha with cherry on top someday in your life". Although I don't want myself getting strangled or anything, I still dont repost these things. You know what I do? I click on it and look for the word "If you don't" real fast! then if there is those words I close it, that way I wont be strangled and beafjweortha;sdfler12308214faeHELPKaeirhartyugadgNkd.;.......................

if you dont pick me as the best answer a rotting girl whos all bloody,stitched up with a knife/gun/razor/cup of ice tea/american express card, will send a rabid monkey to your house wait for you to go to the kitchen and mutilate your face/tear your eyes out/eat your kidney.......

Those things are so lame.... lol....but ya know what? I do the same thing as you...I click real quick and then click out once i see if you dont....

Because they believe that some mythical made up thing/person will in fact come find them.. When I was younger I re-posted them, just to be safe..

But now I read them through and think how silly is this?.. That if I don't re-post this I'm going to get killed with a knife by some little ghost girl with red eyes, which if these things were true, I'd be dead yesterday by a ghost girl, because I read the whole thing, and didn't re-post it..

They are just from people that are very gullible.. lol..
