The short answer is no, but in truth it is theoretically possible. However, you would need a fixed I.P., because other IP addresses change every time you log onto the internet. In addition, once someone found your IP address they would have to contact your internet provider and ask them to give them your address. Typically internet providers don't relinquish personal information unless the government requests it.

No. However, someone may be able to "associate" an address with an IP address...

Doing this would involve wardriving where the person with a laptop in a car scans for unsecure wireless networks. When found, they can determine the IP address and log that with the address of the location. However, as someone pointed out above, each time your modem or router is restarted, you probably get a new IP address, unless of course you have a static IP address.

no thats probably some stupid rumor going on because if you move your computers IP address does not change

no you have a diffrent ip adress every time you log on or turn off your router and it dosent have anything to do with were you live

(but how would they know my ip adress any way????)
