I have thick hair that is ALMOST shoulder length and some long layers. How do I make a good messy bun? (it normally falls out when I try)

start out making a bun, and then finish it quickly so it looks like you don't care. Now thats what i call messy!

Take your hair into a ponytail with your hands, then put the hair band over your hair, and then pull the top half of your hair through the pony tail and then twist the hair band, and pull the other half through. Sorry that is kinda hard to understand. I dont know how to write it clearer, but if you get it, it should work, its what i do, and it looks great.

well use ur hands, not a brush and put it into a bun, add some bobby pins to hold the hair in place, hope that helps! =]

you could put it in a pony tail and tease it then loosely rap it around and clip it
