If the oxidation of an element changes from 2- to 0 during a reaction it has gained or lost how many electrons?

2- means that that element had 2 extra electrons, then once it went to 0 it lost thoes 2 electrons.

It has lost two electrons. Consider the change from H2S ===> S . Sulfur is oxidized.
