OK- here is the deal. I need a minimum of 1024 kbs download speed and a minimum of 512 upload speed for a job. My download speed is closer to 3000, so no worries there. However, my upload speed is at about 215, and when I checked my internet provider's website, it says the biggest upload speed it will go is 3 hundred and something. This is the best plan, which I have, and because I live in the country, I have no other plan options (other than satellite, which is out of my affordability range). My question is this-Is there ANY way I can get a bigger upload rate? I'm hoping for a miracle here, guys and gals. Any suggestions? Please don't be a smart mouth either, because at this point, I have no patience for them, and I will turn them in. Thanks, and hope someone out there can help.

If your ISP cannot upgrade your speed to anything higher then I would say your stuck.
Uploads vary with the pressure on the connection and other jobs that are going on on the internet anyway. Try not using certain applications, email, P2P, IMs while trying to upload files.

If you cant get any faster with DSL you can always get T1 service. Your up and download will then deliver 1.5m. However, you will find it is not cheap. Satellite probably wont help either as most of the ones I know about are limited aroung 384 up also. The problem is simple, there has to be a large enough "pipe" to allow faster uploads. You might have to call your providers BUSINESS division and see if they have any plans with higher upload speeds. Commercial service is more expensive and generallly can deliver more upload speed.

There are 2 kinds of speeds. The theoretical speed your ISP tells you and your actual speed, which varies tremendously. Your theoretical upload speed may well reach his requirement, because the 215kbs will vary over time. Other than that, keep your computer well maintained, and virus free.
