in order to have a wireless internet connection for laptop and PC (desktop), you would need a wireless router, a wireless PCI card for laptop, for PC, you can have it either wireless (wireless ethernet card) or wired (ethernet card)

Any computer store in your area will sell an internet packet that came with a router and a wireless PCI card). I'm sure your PC already has the ethernet card, look on the back, you'll see a hole looks much like for a telephone jack, but a little bigger, next to it, probably a 2 or 3 lights next to it, if you connect the internet cable to it, 1 or 2 lights will come on. If not, you can get one for about $10 - 20

Actually most laptops are setup with internet, either with a wireless adapter or with an eithernet port (the large 8 pin telephone plug) you can connect using either of those. To connect both computers at the same time you will need a router.

The router goes between the computers and your dsl modem which you currently have connected to your other computer.

Routers are cheap (30-50 bucks) and allow up to 254 computers to connect to the same internet source (DSL). You can find them at Home Depot, Office Depot, your local computer store or order one off the net. Some include wireless access points if your laptop is already equiped with a wireless card it can then connect to your dsl wirelessly.

I consider James. Do it your self. that is possibly you will plug the pc to the router and be linked...in basic terms like that. Vista is surprising with those products, and in the experience that your determining to purchase a clean pc, very just about continually, that is going to have some version of Vista. Vista often has maximum "drivers" (bits of utility a working laptop or pc needs to run a hardware devise) and makes setting up hardware a breeze. I plugged in my new Epson multi-functionality printer and inserted the disk into thepersistent and formerly i could get gentle in my chair and pull as much as the keyboard, Vista had the printer put in and able to circulate. i grew to become into inspired.
