I mean when you give your email address to someone how can he harm you? If you don't meet him of course. Why do everyone keep saying it's so dangerous?

It's dangerous sometimes because you never know who you're really talking to. Eventually, when a person gains your trust... it could take years to gain that, that person might suggest to meet you. You never know why they want to. It might not be why they say. You don't ever know what is hidden from you until you see it in person. Plus, you can do searches to track the websites people visit if they use their name as a log in name anywhere. Try it on Google! Do a search of your typical log in name & see what you find! It's creepy what a person can find on line if they look hard enough! If the person finds your real name somehow, they can find your address! What if that person figures out you spend a lot of time alone at home while your parents are at work? How about over the summer for instance? Add it up! It might not be the best idea, depending on your age.

Just giving out your email address isn't dangerous, unless, for instance, you have your full name in your email address. Also, if you give it out on websites (rather than person to person) you've no idea who they're going to sell it to, which might increase the amount of spam you receive, exponentially.

it really isn't that hard to find someone from an email though, if any info is there. that is why people say that. Plus the spam is awful.
