You will need three things for this.
1) DSL Service
2) A DSL Capable landline (Not all houses have this, but it can be installed)
3) A DSL Modem.
You then connect the modem to the line like a phone, and from the modem to the computer. And thats it. You're on.

A subscription from your phone company or other provider. A DSL modem (usually available from your provider). An ethernet port in your computer (some DSL modems may also have USB, but don't count on it). Some cables.
A router or firewall is suggested.

At your end?
A DSL router, a PC and a connection between them. Which router, wich PC and how they connect is largely up to you... well, you can choose which supplier you buy the service from and take their equipment or you can provide your own DSL router and connection as long as they are happy with what you get.

You need a computer, a DSL modem (your DSL provider will give you one), and a phone jack.
