Relatively speaking liquids are very rare in this universe.Because our planet isn't to hot or to cold liquids can exist.So much of known existence depends on this composition of molecules,primarily liquid water.We can't use steam nor ice to survive,only liquid water since our body's can take it in.The idea that liquids can remain in true state is a well known concept that has enabled us to use them wisely throughout the world...Tom Science 4

Liquids are the intermediate state of matter, the second state, and occupy a middle ground between solids and gases.

In liquids, the bonds between molecules are not too rigid to hold them in one definite shape. Thus liquids don't have a definite shape and take the shape of the container. But at a given temperature and a wide range of pressure, liquids have a constant volume, i.e liquids are incompressible fluids unlike gases.

Liquids have surface tension which makes a liquid drop spherical and also makes a surface wet. Liquids also have a range of viscosity (oils, milk shakes etc,) which causes some of them flow easily and others slowly.

Liquids and gases lack shear strength and hence cannot sustain shear waves but can transmit compressional waves.

It will be better if you read and then ask doubts.

Liquids have definite volume but indefinite mass. They flow under general conditions.
