As Zinc is a transition metal it can have various charges such as 1+ , 2+, or even 3+. So the formula for zinc phosphide changes according to the given. For example, Zinc(II) phosphide would make Zinc have the charge of 2+ so the formula would be Zn3P2. But as it seem yours is Zn3P. Potassium hydrogen phosphate is K2HPO4. K2H has a 3+ charge which balance out with the polyatomic ion PO4 with a 3- charge.
