It depends on why your hair is so dry. Was it bleached or is it just naturally dry? I say use a good conditioner(no shampoo and conditioner in one thought they dont work)they are different levels of acidity so only one thing will happen. When you wash your hair the cuticle opens(like little windows) so that the oil and dirt can be released. When you condition your hair this closes the cuticle and keeps the hair healthy and safe. So always use them separately. Have a scalp or a hot oil treatment at a salon would help. Otherwise buy a conditioning serum with vitamin E and put it in your hair every time after you are done shampooing your hair. Believe me when it drys it will feel alot better. Don't use too much though.

I use Aussie 3 Minute miracle for about 15, and then a leave in conditioner. Anti-frizz serums seem to help as well. You can also try an old remedy of mayonaise and eggs (I know it sounds gross but my mom use to make me do it, until I found hair products that worked on my hair.) You can also try hot oil treatments, but it your hair is thick and long like mine...it takes more than one. Olive oil will also work.

Use hair conditioner. It is like the lotion of the hair. And you want to leave it on for several minutes before rinsing. If not conditioner, then you could apply some other hair products.

Use Pantene Moisterizing conditioner, and if you blowdry it, use Paul Mitchel Super Skinny Serum before you blowdry/straighten it.
When you use the conditioner, keep it in for a little while before you wash it out, then your hair will have a chance to absorb it. If your hair is REALLY dry, then keep the conditioner in for about 1/2 hour.

Baby Oil works in a snap, plus it smells nice. But it may be too oily, so be careful with how much you apply, and I would only put it on the ends of your hair.

When you take a shoer measure out about 2 or 1 table spoons of olive oil. (1 or 2 depending on how much hair you have) it helps me... it adds hydration and shine!!

Mayo, it sounds disgusting but use it like a leave in conditioner, put a plastic bag on on your head and leave it for 30 minutes, shampoo and condition as usual.
Beer also works as a rinse
