ok, i have no idea what the heck is wrong with me- Since about Wednesday of last week, my hair has been excessively greay around the crown, and roots of my hair. Before you jump to conclusions that I haven't been washing my hair: I have tried every shampoo I own, and have washed my hair about three times per shower. And I shower every night! What is wrong with me, I'll take any Answer at all!

Ohhh my god, this happens to me all the time. The solution is to actually avoid daily washing - the sebaceous glands are overstimulated, secreting more grease onto the hair. This creates a cycle where the more you wash is the greasier it becomes. Sucks, I know. Another problem with regular washing is that although the roots are greasy the rest of your hair is stripped of oil and the ends become dry and brittle. Use a mild ph-balanced shampoo and wash hair without rubbing the scalp too much. Only apply conditioner to the mid and ends rather than at the roots.

Watch your diet. Oily and fatty foods can contribute to greasy skin and scalp. Best of all is to use those days when you're at home to give your hair a rest from daily washing. Try using a children's shampoo as these are often mild enough for greasy hair.

If all else fails, shave it off. Ha, just kidding. ;)

three times per shower??? that MIGHT be your problem. You are doing too much. try this....wash it ONCE, never apply conditioner to roots as it is a common cause for grease. Blow dry it before going out to dry up some of it. If it appears greasy, use a little powder (like baby powder or whatever you like) it will absorb grease. Do it at bed time or when ever you have time for the powder residue to disappear. Maybe your hormones are a little out of wack right now and you'll probably be back to normal soon. Could be the weather too I suppose.

is it your (ahem) special time of the month?? that could be it. If not, I'm not really sure what your problem is, but I do suggest stopping shampooing all the time. It dries your hair, and make your hair just produce even oils. Try not washing it so much (you many need to resort to headbands on these days to hide the grease), it should stop producing so much oil.

Have you tried a Suave (or brand of your chose) Clarifying shampoo? Sounds like you might have hair product build up...maybe from gel or hairspray.
Regular shampoo doesn't cut it when it comes to getting product build up out of your hair.

Sometimes, if you are overstressed your hair will sometimes turn a little gray. Sometimes it's just old age. :)
