For those days where ur hair seems uncontrollable, jus pulling it back into a simple ponytail works. Try getting it layered, it'll minimize the poofy look (my hair is thick and poofs a lot also). Side bangs r really popular right now among teenagers. For the length, don't ever go shorter than ur chin, cuz then ur hair will look even poofier and could end up looking like an afro!
Good luck! ;)

man... I had/have the same problem. It depends on how much time you are willing to spend on your hair. You could scrunch it after a shower with gel, but personally I don't think that it looks all that great... and like you have greasy hair. You could also put your hair into a messy bun... just put your hair into a high ponytail and then kinda scrunch all your hair around the hair tie... and use another hair tie around that. I suggest you avoid bow-drying your hair, because with mine, it dried it out and made it even more frizzy and unmanagable.

I have the same problem. I don't know which kind of hair style to get but I know what not to get. I have my hair cut short and it just poofs out. Try layers but near the bottom not too high and bangs that come down to your eye and frame your face. Medium length is good.

After washing the hair, braid it into about 10 or so braids. Keep them in for a day or so, and when you take them out, the hair is soft, and curly, yet manageable.

Well, I tried using good hair products. Try Garnier Fructis { the lime green bottle } Shampoo and Conditioner combo. They worked well for me. Also, try using a straightening sereme or blow drying then using straightening iron. I really think Garnier Fructis works well for those of us still in our teen years.
