Ok, ok, ok, I know most CONSERVATIVE people like or love Ann Coulter because of her views. Of course, this is America and everybody has freedom of speech.

In my point of view I think she was a messed up during her childhood years so that's why she wants to be outrageous and controversial. She loves the attention of people, whether good and bad. But why does she have to offend people? What the hell is her problem.

She is a deranged woman. We are watching a madwoman rant and rave publicly. Sad. Here is Elizabeth Edward's dignified response to Coulter's ravings:

When Miss Coulter spoke about John at the conservative convention in Washington yesterday, she used a word that she intended as a nasty and derogatory suggestion. John and I have long ago shrugged off the vile words of this person. When she made a joke about the exact moment of death of Charlie Dean (Howard's brother and a schoolmate of mine), and when she attacked the courageous 9-11 widows, she told you all you need to know about what she is made of: her compassion -- or lack thereof. Now we need to find out about you.

Although her words did not hurt us, they may have hurt some in the gay community. We are all sick and tired of anyone supporting or applauding or introducing hate words into the national dialogue, tired of people thinking that words that cause others pain are fair game. And we are sick and tired of people like Miss Coulter thinking that her use of loaded words about the homosexual community in this country is remotely humorous or appropriate.

John gave a graduation speech at NC State several years ago, and in it he said that none of us can stand by when words of bigotry and division are used. It is only when the rest of us stand up and say that this is not acceptable that we drum out the hate-mongers from amongst us. The first reaction in the room at the conservative convention yesterday was a gasp -- a horrified gasp, even -- but it did not last. In a few seconds, those who were not horrified started clapping and drowned out the gasps.

Now it is our turn to drown out the hate. Find a way -- whether it is contribution here that sends a message to Miss Coulter and those who applauded her (which, of course, I prefer) or whether it is a statement on this blog or others or all of the above -- but please find a way not to sit silent in acceptance. It doesn't change until we say we will not be silent when this happens.

She's just another media whore who says outrageous things to get attention. She's so witless she can't present an intelligent argument instead she resorts to third grade name-calling. I think you have a very good point. She probably had a messed up childhood and was one of those kids that everyone hated. Maybe Mommy and Daddy didn't give her enough attention so now she's neurotically starved for it. She certainly doesn't have the looks or brains so she needs to be "outrageous" to get it. She may also be one of those paranoid, self-loathing closet cases who can't accept the fact that she's a lesbian.

Why does everyone even pay interest to Coulter. the only reason that she gets any interest is as a results of the fact she is an anorexic who wears skirts as much as her lulu. everyone can improve her har 2 ft and positioned on skirts as much as there. Ann isn't something specific.

Her comment was outrageous-no doubt about it. But at the same time, I have a bit of respect for her for saying what was on her mind. Too often all involved in politics try to be politically correct. Reading the comment I actually laughed because it was so outrageous.

In all honesty, I think she may have been a couple of martinis too many in the bag.

Libtards-I am not defending her comment. I am only praising that she said what many are too afraid to say publicly. That is undoubtedly refreshing.

Freedom of speech was never intended to mean being a rude crazy *****! She needs to grow up...her comments are totally inappropriate! I think she is trying to mock the "Man of the Year", but someone needs to remind her that the movie was not to be taken as an example for real life lol. She is begging for attention.

I am a right leaning independant. I can not stand Ann Coulter. Not because of her position, but her logic to get to her position is flawed. She does not do a good job representing the right.

Here is the deal... Ann Coulter has always been clear in her intentions to directly combat the liberal tendency to call names, slander, and commit libel by giving them a taste of her own medicine. I heard this from her on a radio interview a month or two ago. This is her mission. she has always been clear about that and her method of fighting fire with fire.

I like Anthony M's answer best. It's wrong, it's slanderous, it's libelous. Dumpublicans do it, so we will show how Repugnocrats are better by doing the same thing.

As the Guinness guys say,"Brilliant."
