Perpendicular to the direction of travel. Some people might keep an eye on the first two choices, but they are only true for EM waves where we have two oscillating quantities (E-Field and H-Field). Neither. In waves, particles do not move, they oscillate. Transverse waves do not even need matter through which to propagate.
However, the answer that you probably want is perpendicular to the direction of travel.

i believe you answered your own question. You had that magical word "Transverse" so perp to the dirction of travel
