Ibuprofen is (±) - 2 - (p - isobutylphenyl) propionic acid. The carboxylic acid is the group that provides the largest contributation to the overall polarity of the molecule.

Generally speaking, the polarity is not that much different than ethanoic acid (acetic acid).

Ibuprofen is an NSAID which is excreted in the urine. Urine with a specific gravity of 1.023 typically bends light by 2 degrees when looking at it from from a 60 degree angle. The higher the concentration of urine, the higher the polarity. Just take it when you get a headache, but dont take too much as it could leave to renal failure and urine with high polarity.
