I am familiar with Einstein's theories and how as you approach the speed of light, it alters these dimensions. I am more concerned with perception of dimension by the human brain and whether time is perceived the same way as the other three dimensions (this may be subjective).

The word 'same' is not correct. Time is all that space is not, and vice versa. In the same way, religion is all that science is not, and vice versa. The dimensions of time appear to mankind to be united, whereas the dimensions of space appear to be separate.

Yes, time is really a dimension. As far as subjectivity of perception.... Instruments which measure time don't do so subjectively. And time-dilation has been measured millions of times (in hundreds of ways) and verifies the effect exactly as predicted by SR.

it took me a few miles to figure that one out. If time really is the 4th dimension, it seems like it should be able to be measured with the same units as the other three (like inches or meters) but nobody actually knows how.
