I read about the Van De Graaf generator which can produce large amount of electricity. Please tell me another way!

Remember that to do useful work, you need Watts, not
just volts.

The current produced in a Van De Graaf generator is very
very small.

Watts = amps * volts.

You can use standard generator technology to produce
a great deal of power, if you have enough big generators
but to turn those generators, you need a great deal of
power.

Given enough heat, you can create enough steam to
move enough generators to create enough electricity ...

So far, the "densist" fuel we have is fisable material
(uranium, plutonium) - given the least fuel by weight,
you can generate the most heat, to create the most
steam ... etc.

Unfortunately, you also create the most unwanted
radiation and generate the most undisposable spent
fuel.

The van de graaf generator can produce large potential differences but not a lot of current
