Ok this guy a few weeks back started calling me his best friend and I have no idea why but he did. That doesn't bother me cause now that's what I call him too. Then Thursday morning I wasn't at school because I had an appoitment and I missed the only two classes that I have with him. Then on Friday when I was talking to one of my friends he turned around and said, "I thought I heard that moody voice." I guess he said that cause he heard me talking then realized that I was back in class that day. So I was like ok. Then I was like, "Wait what is that suppose to mean?" He replied, "That is what friends are suppose to tell you." What did he mean by this was it suppose to be a joke or what?

It depends on his tone... Did he say it being nasty, or was he sarcastic and smile? Body language tells a lot... Focus on it... It will answer all your questions.
He also might be crushing on you :)

It sounds like he is being the typical guy. Maybe he was poking fun at you because he felt neglected while you were gone... If you are still wondering, straight up ask him. If you are "best friends" you have nothing to lose, right?
