The only time I had really sharp pains ...I ended up having a Urinary Tract Infection...which is common later on in pregnancy because the baby is putting pressure on your bladder and you can't empty it properly...the side effect is a UTI.

And the spasms that go along witha UTI during pregnancy...felt (to me) like I was being stabbed with a friggin kitchen knife everytime I used the restroom...it got so bad that everytime I sat down...I'd have those pains...

Talk to your doctor, they'll probably do a culture to make sure.

If you have a UTI it's no big deal just make sure you get it taken care of as an untreated UTI can quickly progress into a renal infection.

I'm sure you'll be fine...just visit the doc just to be safe.

*lol* Well it isn't abnormal depending on the pain. If you think you have a UTI go to a doctor, if you think it is just pain from pressure or muscle or ligament pain then it is normal.

Try leaning slightly back when you pee and gently lifting your belly by cradling the lower part. Some women have so much pressure they can only pee in the bath, or standing, or some other thing. *lol* Didn't find that in your pregnancy book!

You may consider using a pregnancy cradle (supportive wear that holds up your belly) or seeing a chiropractor.
