Chances are you are pregnant. Take another test to confirm and then go to the doctor to get prenatal vitamins, etc.
When I tested at home the first time it was a minus (-) for not pregnant, and a plus (+) for pregnant, and I, of course got a vertical line (|)... WHAT THE HELL DOES A VERTICAL LINE MEAN??!!! I was pissed. I got the digital kind next... much clearer and it told me I was pregnant. I also wrote to the manufacturers of the first test to get my money back. Never did. Bastards...

The positive line is really faint. Is this okay? An HPT tells you exactly one thing: your urine either has detectable pregnancy hormone in it, or it doesn't. The darkness or lightness of a line doesn't mean much. Generally speaking, a very light line can mean there is a small amount of hCG in your urine, and a very dark line can mean there is a larger amount of hCG in your urine. This is why you may get a faint positive at 10 DPO but a darker positive at 18 DPO. However, this is not always true. Tests are all different, and even tests in the same box may differ in sensitivity. Comparing light/dark lines will just drive you nuts. If you see a line in the "results" window, you're preg!

This happened to me and I was pregnant. I took the test about 10 days after having sex and I thought I was seeing things. The line was so faint, even my friends that saw it thought I was crazy. Wait a few more days and retest. Behave as if you were pregnant in that time, no drinking, smoking, etc. Better to be safe than sorry.

Any line is a positive line when it comes to those tests. Take another and see if the same thing happens. I had very faint lines with my second and third pregnancies, but I was definitely pregnant. Good luck!

This happened to me on Monday, there was a dark horizontal line and a very faint vertical line. I used EPT. I went to the doctor's to get another test done and I am pregnant. A false positive is a very rare thing to happen. Go to a doctor and get another test done to be positive though!
Good Luck!

Unfortunately, yes this happens. Happened to me with both children. I went through 7 pregnancy tests with the first one and with the second one went through 8. Out of the 7-two gave me weird readings.
Get Clearblue pregnancy test. They tell you the words pregnant or not pregnant on the stick. You can't get any clearer than that. ;-)
#1 make sure you go by the time to check on your stick
#2- Some reccomend that you lay the stick down on a flat surface and--well, follow the directions Dont try to rush it. It will tell you quick results.

If there's a line at all and it's the color it's supposed to be (as in, pink or blue, not gray or clear-ish), it's considered a positive. And positives are 99.5% accurate. There is no reason for the test to show positive unless you have hcg in your urine, and there's not reason to have hcg unless you're pregnant. Maybe you're just not very far along.
But hey, here's my story: I got that kind of result with my first response test, and I was so confused that I just went out and got a clearblue easy digital test, and it said Pregnant. Very clear, very easy...I'll never do a line test again.

Chances are you are, but you probably are not that far along. If you are happy about it wait a week before you retest the tests at the dollar stores are 99.9% accurate and are the same as the expensive ones. If your not well go to the doctor and you might be able to get the morning after pill, but the longer you wait it's another life your making the decision for. If you make the wrong decision you could regret it the rest of your life.

It happend with my pregnancy this time. I had a very faint line at the doctors so I had my pregnancy confirmed with a blood test. I am now almost 10 weeks pregnant.

UH...usually ANY line...no matter how faint it is...equals a positive test...
The more pregnant you are ...(the further along) ...the more of the hormone is in your system...so a faint line usually just means that you are really really early on...but yes still pregnant.
My first positive pregnancy test was also very faint and like another person on here said..I took like 10 of them too...and they just got continually darker the further along I was...
So ...
Congratulations!!
