I asked a guy friend of mine what they use for his baby girl who is not 11 months. Since he knew everything about an epidural, baby registry info and how I will be feeling, I assumed he would know about baby laundry detergent. Anyhow I emailed the guy 2 weeks ago asking what brand they use for their baby? He never wrote back to me so I assumed he was mad at me or didn't know. I thought he could have atleast written me that he wasn't sure. But don't guys usually know what laundry detergent is used to clean the clothes, especially if he helps? Well the guy never wrote back. And then he emailed me few days ago and said he was in town and was really busy and didn't get a chance to see anyone. I then told him to tell his wife to plan a trip to see me when I have this baby...either in spring or summer. So he wrote back telling me that he has been swamped with work, has no time to see anyone. then he wrote that he and his wife are planning a trip together next time he has a business

trip. then he wished me good luck on the delivery. So it is not a big deal about the laundry detergent, him not writing back to me was just that he didn't know right?

And then the guy sent only me...not my hub some pictures of his baby girl's newest photos. Isn't it weird that he didn't send them to my hubby as well?

I'm sure he just didn't know.

There are lots of baby detergents to choose from: Dreft, Method, and All Free & Clear is good for the whole family as well as baby.

Sounds to me that you may be reading too much into it. Sometimes when pregnancy is part of our life, we expect everyone to focus on the details that surround us, because this is the biggest thing that's ever happened to us. Sometimes our friends get busy with their own lives, the same way they always were, we're just a little more sensitive to their being busy than we normally would be. I've been there! Maybe you could send him a note and say it would be nice to see them next time they're in town and leave it at that...then go to the store and buy DREFT. its a great baby laundry detergent.

You actually seem to have several questions but I'll stick with the detergent question. Baby detergent can be terribly expensive but I really liked the All version. It was not as expensive and seemed to do a really good job. Of course, after about six months I did a couple of outfits with the rest of the laundry to test if dd would be okay. She was and now I just use regular dye free detergent.

Wow, that was a rambling question. It might not be weird, maybe he doesn't think your hubby will care to see baby girl photos? Most of our friends just email me and not my hubby. When you email him, do you always CC his wife? Maybe he just replied to you since you last emailed him??? Don't obsess, but if you are feeling weird about him and his responses, back off the friendship a little. It's important that you don't have an exclusive relationship with just him I think.

As for laundry detergent, I've heard as long as it is color and scent free and gentle, it doesn't matter what brand. I personally am not going to spend a ton of money to pay for the expensive stuff.

1) Sounds like you might be giving off a "vibe" that you have a "thing" for this guy.. He might be picking up on this and that's why he's responding by telling you that he is taking his wife on a trip, to remind you that he's married.

Or maybe he is really really busy and didn't have time to write back.

As for baby laundry detergent, guys truly care much about this kind of stuff. Why is it such a big deal that he didn't want to chit chat with you about laundry detergent?

Dreft is the best for baby and cleanliness of the clothing itself. Dreft is for sensitive skin so there is less of a chance of the baby throwing an allergic reaction to the soap. Hopefully this will help as I have three children myself 2 which are grown and one a teenager (16). Unfortunately all of my children had sensitive skin like myself so I had to find a baby soap that addressed this issue.

You seem mighty concerned about what this guy thinks of you/about you. Do I sense a past history or crush? Very weird "question." Anyway, you can wash baby stuff in baby detergent. You'll find it on your regular deterget aisle and even in the baby section at some stores. Its expensive, and frankly, not worth it. Just use dye free, scent free detergent. Best of luck to you.

So was your question about laundry detergent or the fact that you have a think for this "friend" of yours? The laundry detergent is called Drift. If you look on the laundry ailse you will see it. Also I think there is some stuff called Ivory Snow or something like that.

I think the whole baby detergant thing is a big rip off! Unless your baby has skin allergies or really sensitive skin. I just used Tide on my daughters clothes, I did dilute though. We have never had a problem. Years ago they never washed the baby clothes with different soap.

I've used Dreft, but All also makes a baby detergent.
