Unfortunately the DRs will not induce you until you are past your due date or if there is a risk to the baby. They told me that my son was about 7 lbs and they let me go two days past my due date w him and he turned out to be 8 lb 9 oz!!!! Hopefully that doesn't happen in your situation, bc it was almost impossible to deliver him vaginally. Now, i am 38 weeks with my second baby and only 20% effaced and 1-2 cm dilated...so you are further along then me hunny, and this is my second baby in less than 2 years! Congrats on the fact that you are 30%.
It's almost over, the longer the baby stays in the more developed it's lungs will be. Don't be in a rush to be induced, bc the labor is much more intense!
Don't bother w castor oil either, it just gives you stomach pains. Just stay active, walking and cleaning.
Good luck, and bear w it, youre almost done.

The doctor wont induce because they generally like to wait the full 40 weeks to be on the safe side. Theyll only induce before that if its necessary. I was ready to get my pregnancy over with too (my baby was 10 days late-even though they did induce me a couple days after my due date). Now I sometimes wish I still was pregnant. Once the baby comes you will have some serious sleep deprivation and you will have no time whatsoever to clean, cook, or cuddle with your partner. You'll be using every last minute of the day changing diapers, feeding, burping, giving baths, etc etc etc and trying to get what little sleep you can. Dont get me wrong-I love my baby more than anything (shes 19 months now) but she can be a real handful sometimes.

It is healthier for you to stay pregnant for the 40 weeks needed to help your baby completly form. Too much walking will cause the false labor and real labor won't happen until the baby and your body are ready. Trust me Inducing labor is hard on you and stressful on the baby. It pushes your body into labor when not ready. Just be patient. It is worth waiting. I stayed 2cm and 30% effaced for 4 weeks and induced at 42 weeks. Horrible experience for me and for my baby. Be patient and induce only if you have to.

No one can say when a baby will come...First time mom's usually take longer, but this is not the rule. I know of at least two mom's who had their firstborns in the backseat of a car on the way to the hospital. Try talking to your doctor about the best methods for handling your impending arrival.. Inducement can sometime lead to a long labor, but let's be practical here...You don't want to have your baby in a car, or on the kitchen table..Letting the labor happen naturally really is the best way, but sometimes you have to help nature along. Particularly if your baby is healthy and full term..

That totally sucks, I know how hard it is to wait. Try to just relax and enjoy the little bit of time you still have for yourself. Trust me, it will never be this way again. Hang in there it will all be over soon enough! Best of Luck to you and baby!

You may just have to wait for it to came naturally. First time moms are in labor for a long time, so you will get to the hospital in time.
