Pregnancy is calculated from the first day of your last period, so the first 2 weeks you aren't really pregnant. You get pregnant within 24 hours of ovulation, but since sperm can live up to 5 days, sex 5 days before ovulation can result in a baby. I had sex 4 days before I ovulated and got pregnant. So that means it was 4 days after I had sex that I actually got pregnant. If you have sex the day you ovulate then you can get pregnant that day or the next. So if you are 8 weeks and 5 days pregnant, you got pregnant about 6 and a half weeks ago, depending on your cycle length.

Doctors measure this based on the last menstral cycle. The first day of their last period is when they say you "conceived" but it could be weeks after that or even weeks before that. There's no exact way to tell the exact day the sperm implanted in the egg. Sperm are VERY slow swimmers and it could take up to three or more days for them to find the egg. Of course, it could take less than that too.
Melissa is only partially right. It isn't two weeks after, as I said before. Some women get pregnant DURING their period and some women even have a period AFTER they are pregnant. That is why docs go by the first day of the last cycle.

It could be a day or so either way!! LOL . But really, the time thing is not exact- how would one know exactly 8 weeks unless it had been the only time she had sex in the last 3 months- exactly 8 weeks ago?

Actually, I believe pregnancy is calculated from the last day of the woman's period not from date of fertilization.
Cycle day 1 is the first day of a woman's period so that is how they calculate. So if she is 8 weeks and 5 days, she probably actually had intercourse and got pregnant around the first week in January.
But check with a doctor to be sure!!!!

It's easier to figure out if you know the date of her last menstrual period or the due date of the baby. Assuming the baby is due in about 30 weeks, she would have conceived around New Years Eve.
It also depends if the doctor actually calculated pregnancy from the day the woman ovulated and you likely conceived or the date of her last menstrual period, If calculating from her last period you guys only conceived about 7 weeks ago. Most American doctors use the LPM method, so you likely only conceived about 7 weeks ago, but who knows. You should speak with the OBGYN to get the best information.

you cant pinpoint suited concept date this early if in any respect. i'm 11 wks and the record has replaced how a lengthy way alongside i'm a pair situations. so u can calculate yet you'll nevertheless purely be able to narrow it right down to about a 4-5 day time period. being pregnant starts off after the implantation it truly is i imagine 3 days after insemination. the record starts off counting from very last era date.

If you got how many week you are right then your Conception Date would be around 01/11/07. (Sperm meats egg) and that would put a due date around 10/04/07. but you really need to now your First Day of Last Menstrual Period and your Length of cycle in days.

What moron told you they know exactly how pregnant you are? Was it from a sonogram? My tech told me I was 12 weeks. Guess what? She was off by 5 weeks! I was really at 18 weeks along.
The length of time of between conception and sex has variables. That time can be from while you are still having intercourse up to days later.

Your pregnancy begins the day the sperm and egg interact and create life. So if you have sex on a Thursday, your egg drops Friday and the sperm reached it alive, your first day of pregnancy is Friday.

You count from the first day of your last period, so its very hard to tell exactly what day you got pregnant.
