My friend just had an U/S done at 12 weeks and they told her they were 80% sure it was a girl. I am having my next U/S at 13 weeks but I am not getting my hopes up. I will probably find out for sure between 16-20 weeks, when it is more certain:)

The genitals are apparent at 17 weeks...which your baby is actually a little younger than that...due to weeks start prior to really being pregnant! But you will have your normal once a month appointment with your doctor and the soonest appointment after 17 weeks an ultrasound will be done and you will be told the sex of your child. At this time you will also have several blood tests done to find out if your child has anything wrong with it!

18-20 weeks is usually the best. Some can tell as early as 16 weeks.

Drs can tell as early as 12-16 weeks with a DETAILED ultrasound, but usually that's not completely accurate (well nothing is 100% accurate until that baby comes out :), but average is 20 weeks

A cooperative baby and a good ultrasound machine can reveal pretty accurate results around week 16. With my son, we actually found out at 12 weeks, but with my daughter we didn't see anything until 16 weeks. Still, if your baby doesn't open its legs, you won't see anything, regardless of the week.

Well an amnio can tell you from day 1 because it looks at chromosomes. A sonogram can tell you as early as 16 weeks.
