II need advice- and fast. A couple of weeks ago I was offered a job from another company. The job is a huge promotion from my current position, (one that I would have to wait another 2 years for if I remained at my current workplace), with an increase in salary by about 20%. The job was offered to me by a manager whom I used to work for, one whom I have a good working relationship with. This position however is interstate- in a small town, and in taking up the offer I would have to move away from a good support network of family and friends. Because of this, my parents are against the move, as they feel I am still too young (22 yrs) to take on the responsibilities associated with this new job, coupled with the pressure of moving away from my home environment. So I've turned down the offer. Now I'm regretting it. Is this a risk worth taking, or should I wait? I'm sure if I reapproached the company in the next few days, the offer would still stand.

Moving is the only thing that will truly ever move you up the ladder. You may be young, but it is a matter of moving and planning your next move fro this move. Suck it up and move for 2 years and then move again.
