yes of course, and as it has vista installed when bought you can be sure it will run xp at optimal settings
however you need to format the hard drive and delete any remenence of vista before you install xp
then its just a case of installing xp the normal way and thats it
note:keep your system recovery disk safe just incase you want to reinstall vista,or why not format your hard drive and create two partitions, use a windows start up disk for this and use the fdisk function,or add a second hard drive and set it to master
then as xp is the older os install this first in the c partition and install all the nessecary drivers and software, then insert your vista recovery disk and when prompted you need to install vista on d drive
once installed your p.c will boot up to the vista boot manager were you can choose between vista or xp
i have used this method with windows xp and the vista beta, allthough i used the 2 hard drives method
i recommend this method as you will find that you will use vista for some tasks(internet, office)and xp for others(games, photo+video editing)
this way you get the best of both worlds, but remeber you need seperate drivers and security software for each o/s
good luck

Yes, but it will not be fast and simple. First, you need to make sure you have a legal copy of the Windows XP CD (not an upgrade, but the full version). Next you should find out exactly what hardware you have and download XP drivers for all of it and burn those to a disc. After you have all of that ready, boot off your XP install CD and format the hard drive. Once it finishes, boot off the CD and install XP. You will lose all the files and software that came with your PC if you do this, so don't be disappointed when all you have is the operating system. After installation, you should make sure to run Microsoft Update (Start/Windows Update). Depending upon your connection speed this could take several hours, and your computer will probably need to reboot several times. Just keep updating it until there are no more updates. You should probably do this on a weekend, when you have plenty of free time.

Certainly : - you would have to buy a separate copy of XP though and follow its setting-up instructions. It will rewrite over the old operating system on the hard drive and install XP.

You can buy Windows XP on disk. When you install it, you have the choise to keep your Vista, or delete it (and ALL of your saved files)

Yes, just a word of caution though if you decide to go back to Vista. If you upgrade to Vista from XP it supersedes and invalidates your XP licence.

the answer is ...

with previous versions ..ie: converting xp to a previous version...u could do that

with vista once you instal it u loose ur licence for xp so if u want to revert back to xp then u have to go out and buy a new copy of xp

vista takes away alot of ur freedom ...people are finding that things they could do for free before hand they now have to pay for
