What is the difference between a French braid and a braid? I have no clue at all. If you give a link to a website, it would be helpful if there were pics to show the difference. But you don't have to use a website, and it doesn't have to have pics, just as long as the explanation is clear and fairly simple.

i don't really know how to explain it, but here we go...
with a french braid, you start with a medium-sized section of hair-not all of the hair, like in a regular braid- and every time you cross a piece over to the center, you pick up a small piece of hair before crossing and add it to the piece you already have. here's a website that might explain it better.

and here's a normal braiding website.

good luck on learning! (:

In a french braid, strands of hair are added as the braid is being formed. You start with 3 small parts which get bigger and bigger throughout the braid. A normal braid has 3 equal parts the entire time.
