foil has less of a chance of missing the root of your hair. If given the choice...I prefer foil.

Even thought foil takes longer it looks better. When you get that done for highlights. And most people can tell you. That the highlights last longer with the foil treatment. But make sure that you get the right person to do it. Hopes this helps with your decision.

some hair places do both...others do only foil and others do only caps. i prefer caps because its easier and your basically getting a lot of strands of hair highlighted...just not your whole head. sometimes foils take a ton of time to complete. but i've gotten both done before..and i think caps look better.

Foils make more natural looking highlights. You can also have more creative control with foils since you can put them anywhere you like. Also, foils get closer to the scalp so you dont have instant roots.

a cap is going to give you all over fine lines, more of a blend, no definition between the contrasting colors.
Foils, allow for variation in size of the highlights, and can show contrast, you have more versatility in the outcome, if you still like the blend, then ask for a fine weave, if you want the greatest contrast then go for the slices. If you want something in between then go for a medium weave.
They both look great, just depends on the look you are wanting to achieve in the end.
Blessings!

Foils. It's a little more natural... caps tend to look weird and chunky/stripey depending on who does it for you.
