No, Most American Schools don't offer Latin anymore.

I'm not sure if it's common. I know many schools do and many schools don't.

My school offers a Latin program though.

This is my first year taking it :)

Some schools don't because substitute it with much more useful languages people can use in the future. But Latin is pretty helpful with some English vocabulary since many English words are derived from Latin~

No, it is very uncommon for American students to study Latin. Since Latin is sometimes considered a "dead" language very few people in America have studied Latin, however, they do study the Latin-based languages, Italian, Spanish, French, etc.
