The Amino Acids which make Protein are basic building blocks of life. All foods contain them.

There are 8 essential amino acids. This means your body cannot make them or convert them from another amino acids. Some fruits and vegetables may not have all 8, but only a fool eats only one thing all of the time. A simple variety helps ensure you get access to everything you need.

Some food combinations are complementary when it comes to amino acids. For example, eat red beans and rice (brown rice) provides a dish which contains all 8 amino acids together.

Newer research has shown that where some used to believe that certain fruits and vegetables may have been missing 1 or 2 of the 8 essential amino acids, now they see these 1 or 2 are simply at a low ratio compared to the others. Again this means that if you ate only one type of fruit, as your only food, every single day, you could eventually develop health problems associated with a nutritional deficiency of an essential nutrient...this can lead to death over time as well.

Variety. Variety. Variety.

Tofu contains all the amino acids and is an easy ingredient to add to any food. Make a smoothie that contains firm tofu instead of yogurt. When you run it through the blender, it will become totally smooth.
