The RAM that came along with my non-samsung laptop was only 256MB DDR 333. When I do get to install the samsung PC2700, will everything be changed? like my previous software or the data that I have stored? .... Do I really have to do all the reformatting and stuffs?

just so you know...PC2700 is DDR333...PC3200 is DDR400...just make sure your laptop will handle the amount of RAM mb you want to install...ie: 512mb or 1 gb vs 256mb.You will not lose any info.

Nothing will change. ram does not affect your files at all. you can install whatever ram your laptop supports ie..pc2700 pc3200 and the size also. no reformatting at all.

nothing will change, installing ram is very easy, and it will not adversely affect your stored data.
