No danger to just you. But if the bottom of the laptop starts to feel too warm, remove it right away. You see, the batteries inside can suddenly overheat.

Recently, there was a major recall of batteries that were made by Sony. These batteries appeared in several brands of laptops, including Sony and Dell. These batteries would suddenly get very hot. In some cases, they melted the laptop and caught fire. This is a big danger to people that actually use their laptop in their LAP.

But there is no radiation or other poison danger. They have never proved that CRT monitors are a danger either, but of course, your laptop does not use one.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

With all the batteries going up in smoke, you might want to consider putting the laptop on a desk or a table other than the heat the only other problem there might be are the radio frequencies it uses to transmit and receive data from a connection.

The only danger with laptops is to your posture and specifically lower spine. By using the keyboard and screen so low you are curving your spine and causing future problems. The best solution is to hook it up to a keyboard, mouse and screen and get a decent chair.

I have heard of reading to your baby, playing music for your baby but the internet this has to be a first :-) There is no real danger but I would make sure you keep him on protected sites only.
