It sounds like a long time off, but history of civilized man on Earth goes back about 7,000 years ago. Do you think our species will survive another 100 years?...much less 7,000 years?

What can we do collectively has humans to ensure the survival of the species?

Of course we will. Maybe not all of us still on planet Earth, but somewhere. Appearances notwithstanding we are slowly learning to live with one another. Remenber, compared to conditions just a thousand years ago, to people back then life today would seem like heaven.

I don't expect humans as biological organisms to be around in the year 9007. However I consider it likely that intelligent beings will exist then that can trace their way back to humans. In fact, some people who exist now may still exist then, although they will no longer possess biological bodies.

I don't think that Earth as we know it will still be around. I think the global warming will take care of that for us.
