Yes, you can. Some doctors won't do it, so find one who specializes in it. It is harder and it's riskier. Bear in mind that you may have to stop halfway and have a c section anyway, but do give it a try.

Yes. I had a c-section with my first child. After pushing for 3 hours, they realized her head was stuck and I had to have a cesarean. My doctor was pro VBAC and encouraged me to try natural childbirth with my second. He was delivered naturally. Then 6 years later, I moved and the doctor told me she would only deliver my daughter if I had a cesarean. I moved 3 weeks before she was born and no doctor would take me unless I had a cesarean. I wasn't at high risk, they just didn't want to risk any liability. Most doctors will let you try to deliver naturally as long as you don't have a high risk pregnancy or other factors that would not allow you to deliver vaginally (placenta problems, small pelvis, breach, etc). However there are also doctors that won't allow you to because they don't want to risk any kind of liability. If you want to deliver vaginally, then talk to your doctor and see what his/her views on VBAC are. If you don't like their answer, then get a second or third opinion. Good luck!

I had a caesarean with my 3rd child and had a natural delivery with my 4th. So it is possible, it also depends on what the reasons where behind the c-section. My daughter was breech and got lodged, had no choice but to have one. There is a 3yr gap between them. Good luck x

No doubt about it, Vbac's [vaginal birth after Cesarean] are very common now-a-days. Depending on why the first c-section was preformed, there should be no reason you couldn't have a Vbac if you so choose. I had my first c-section July 8Th of 2004... I got pregnant with my son June of 2005... I, however had a c-section because my hips don't spread enough during pregnancy to allow a child's head to pass, so I was told not to attempt a Vbac, because there is little to no chance for me to have a child naturally. [They told me this after 36 hours of labor... *thanks right?*] There is always a risk of your uterus tearing during labor which could have devastating results. I'd go with your doctors advice on this one. All cases are different, but it has been done! Good Luck & God Bless!

If your section was for medical reasons not personal choice, it is possible that the same scenario could occur again and surgery required. However, no problems may arise with another pregnancy and normal labour would then be possible.
