I have installed Limewire onto my computer but it will not connect. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You will ave to adjust your settings before trying to connect and make sure to set your corrct broadband or dialup speed.
Best answer is dont bother using it, its full of virus spreading programs .
I would recommend using a program called DC++ and then using the many various hubs available in respect of your sharing level. i.e. The more you share the better the hubs that come available.

Make sure your firewall is either turned off or allows Limewire through. Also, if you are not at home, find out if your service allows Limewire and other p2p programs to run. I know when I am at school, they do not allow it, along with some apartment complexes, ect.

Click on start
click on control panel
Click on windows firewall
click on exeptions
move down till you see limewire click it so there should be a tick in the box next to it.
then click on ok.
Now try using limewire again.

LIMEWIRE CAN BE A BIT TEMPRIMENTAL SOMETIMES.WHEN MINE DOES THAT,I JUST TIGHTEN UP THE CONNECTIONS JUST IN CASE THEIR A BIT LOSE AND RESTART THE COMPUTER.I HOPE THIS HELPS.YOU SHOULD THEN DOWNLOAD LIMEWIRE PRO FROM LIMEWIRE,ITS MUCH BETTER.ALSO,CHECK ALL YOUR SECURITY SETTINGS AND FIREWALL.IF ALL ELSE FAILS,UNINSTALL IT,THEN REINSTALL A FRESH DOWNLOAD.GOOD LUCK

stay well clear of limewire and bearshare awful> I use torrentspy with bitlord much better and you get full albums perfect quality and correct volume

uninstall all of limewire, delete it from your pc.then download it again and re install.

my limewire has gone haywire recently it happened after i installed talk talk basically you need to adjust your security/anti virus mallarkey

fire wall issues, inside of the modem, type 10.1.1.1 into the address bar hit enter, then look for some firewall settings and turn them all off. you dont REALY need it, your only a home user theres nothing anyone would want to steal.
