i am a canadian high school student interested in volunteering in china/japan. what are some good programs? also for those who have volunteered in these destinations please share your expiriences.

The best option if you are young and inexperienced is by going with a reputable program that will serve as a guarantor for you.. You wont be able to work in China legally without a college degree but you can study Chinese, and you can volunteer to teach english in limited engagements.. Below are two links that may help you..

Volunteer opportunities are most often available in developing nations, so I don't think you will have many options in Japan, since they are already a highly developed nation.
