No they celebrate New Year. Chinese New Year is the new year of the zodiac calendar. I being Chinese know this. We follow a normal calendar, but we also celebrate Chinese New Year because we want to celebrate our culture. We don't have oour own calendar. Its not like we dont believe in February or July.

Some of us do and some don't.
In addition to western New Year and Chinese New Year, there are others like Songkran, the 3-day New Year celebration in Thailand.
It takes place in mid April.
New Year celebrations in Asian cultures are very big and eventful.
Chinese New Year is the most important holiday of the year for the Chinese but I still like to put on a slinky black dress and high heels to dance into the early morning hours of January 1st.

The Chinese use both the lunar and the solar calendar. The Chinese New YEar is based on the lunar calendar, and the regular Jan 1 New Year is based on the solar calendar.

Probably with their non-chinese friends. It's still a night to party, and a day off, why wouldn't they take advantage of it?
