It's been a long while since I've seen it, but I did enjoy this movie. But of course, I'm awfully fond of a lot of Kenneth Brannagh's work.
Perhaps one of the reasons I like this movie is that it stirs up a fond memory of my high school English teacher. We watched the movie in class, and being a Catholic school, the student board requested that the love scene not be shown. My teacher was sure to make a comment/joke about how "sure, we can watch the guy rip out someone's heart, but we can't watch a couple get it on. Ridiculous!"

The movie and the book were both so sad! and I LOVE the book. I wrote a pretty awesome essay on it too, I must say. I haven't read the book in a few years, but I remember it was freaking awesome and thought-provoking. (also very scandalous that a woman wrote it) I felt so much pity for the creature.
