Getting OD charges reversed/refunded will depend on a few things.
1) Do you have a regular history of overdrawing your account? If so, don't count on a refund.
2) Is your balance (and or combined balances) in the 5 or 6 figures? If so, then you can threaten to close all the accounts and chances are you'll get the money back... banks always look at their profit/loss possiblities in determining that.
3) Was it a bank error? You should get that back no problem.
4) What is your relationship with the branch?
a) Good standing/nice customer - 50/50 chance to get it back with a simple please and a smile.
b) Bad standing/irritating customer - not a chance.
Hopefully you "qualify" to get your money back... ask for a manager if you feel you honestly are due those fees back.

A good place to get all the advice you want is to go to this website:
www.MoneySavingExpert.com
You probably will need to sign up for Martin's Money Tips E-mail but it is totally free and give you plenty of suggestions and step by step way to get your money back from the banks. Reclaiming bank charges is actually the headline this week!
It is written by the money expert from this morning. It is a very interesting website and worth checking out and recommending to all your friends.

try www.unfairbankcharge.co.uk you fill in a short form and they go about trying to claim money back for you, you don't even have to step foot in the bank or do anything else! Plus the more banks have to deal with claims from these people, maybe it'll make them realise they can'y keep ripping us off!

confident, they'd, yet once you telephone and ***** in a comfortable and controlled way, and don't come off the telephone. do no longer enable them to declare, confident, yet there is not any longer something we are in a position to do, there is. I truthfully have completed this two times and have been given my costs back as "goodwill"

Call them up and tell them (firmly) to cancel them and they will refund the charges.
